Built on WordCraft
The editor is the original web runtime from ArtCraft’s WordCraft project. This website is not an official ArtCraft service and is not affiliated with Microsoft.
The version behind the page
This edition uses the fixed v0.5.0 web release. Its archive is checked against the release’s SHA256SUMS.txt. The document engine is unchanged; a small hosting patch reports real startup readiness and failures to this site’s editor shell.
View the runtime version manifest or read the upstream release notes.
Still in Alpha
Start with simple DOCX documents. Text, headings, and lists are the intended starting point; fonts and layout can differ. Check tables, images, and pagination in a downloaded copy before sharing.
Complex charts, SmartArt, macros, encrypted documents, and exact Word pagination are outside this edition’s compatibility promise. This edition does not add AI writing, accounts, online backup, or shared editing.
Licenses and credits
WordCraft’s upstream source and branding have their own terms. The distribution’s license, notices, font licenses, and asset credits are preserved with the runtime. See the open-source notices and upstream license and credits.
This website’s typography uses Fraunces and IBM Plex Sans, distributed under the SIL Open Font License. Their license texts are included in the notices.
